Afternoon: Scrappy Appliqué®

Scrappy Appliqué® is a fun, fast, and forgiving raw edge collage technique created by Shannon Brinkley. Perfect for all skill levels, this workshop gives students the freedom to choose their shapes, colors, stitching, and finishing to create a bold, washable, one of a kind piece.

We introduce approachable skills such as appliqué, basic quilting, and top stitching while guiding participants through color play, fabric selection, and simple design choices. Students build modern collaged motifs that can feel soft, bold, playful, or dramatic—whatever emotion they want to spark through fabric.

This session pairs beautifully with Color Confidence®, offering a supportive, creativity boosting environment where everyone can explore, experiment, and make something uniquely their own. At Sew Happy Memories, we believe quilts should be lived in and loved, and this class helps students create pieces that carry joy into everyday life.

Rule #1: Don’t overthink it, just have fun and let the fabric fly!
