Class Description
My favorite quilt quite often begins in the scrap bag. Each block seems to be different from the last one because it contains different prints. Fairview has a lot of visual movement, contains some interesting techniques, while helping it to become one of your favorite quilts.

Supplies/Fabric Requirements
6 yards background fabric (solid or tone on tone)
6-8 yards assorted fat quarters, scraps (at least 8 by 13 inches), half yards
Basic sewing kit
Sewing Machine
Rotary Cutting kit (mat, rotary cutter with fresh blade, 8- or 12-inch acrylic square ruler, 6 by 24 inch ruler)

My first exposure to quilt making was at my grandmother's knee, literally, as she peddled on her 1903 Singer. It was fascinating to see how fast that treadle could go. Along with sparking my early interest in the sewing machine, she also let me play with her scrap bag, sometimes even letting me keep some of the wonderful scraps found inside. I started my first quilt as a teenager and have never lost interest or been bored by the process.
