Class Description
Gnomes are in the air and have been the big craze this past year, so when I saw this very cute gnome table runner, I couldn't resist. Did you know all gnomes are not the same?? Did you know there are different types of gnomes? We will be making the Nisse who is a Norwegian gnome, and he can cause harmless mischief now and then. In this Class you get to learn how to use the Twister ruler, piecing and applique techniques. No need to bring a machine, we got you covered! We will be providing Bernina 770s, bobbin, Needle, Walking foot Foot, #23, and 1/4 foot.

Supplies/Fabric Requirements

Twister Gnomes pattern

1 FQ Medium Gray Background
1 yd non directional print for background
1 FQ or Scraps Red for Hats
1 FE or Scraps White for Beard
1 FE or scraps Cream for Nose and Skin
1 FE or scraps Gray Bodies
¼ yd for binding
½ yd Backing
Lil’ Twister Tool/ruler
½ yd of Heat N Bond (fusible web)
Rotary cutter, Mat and Ruler
Fabric marking Pen
Threads to match. I like to match threads to the colors of my applique pieces. (I strongly recommend Metrosene or Aurifil. These are nice machines that need good quality thread. There are other brands but they cause a lot of lint build up in your machines.)
Ironing Station

Homework: Follow cutting instructions for fabrics and have cut out ready to go, trace applique pieces onto heat N bond and ironed to the back of fabrics, cut out. Have pieces ready to go. Do Not Sew ahead we will do the rest in class. Please call me or email me with any questions.

I can't even remember when I actually started sewing. As I watched my mother sew everything from clothing to crafts and as I grew up under a quilt being tied by my mother and grandmother, I never questioned that I could do the same. I received my first sewing machine 38 years ago and I haven't stopped sewing for my own kids, grandkids, and many others, including a professional porcelain doll maker. I continued to explore with crafting and quilting and found that it is something I have always loved. I moved to St. George where I started working with Dave's Bernina and for the past 7 years, I have found how much I really love quilting, appliqueing, embroidering, crafting, and teaching what I love to do. I currently continue to be a part of the Dave's Bernina family and doing what I love most.
