33: 33. Ornamental Christmas Quilt - LaVonne Jackson - Friday

Class Description
This is a Christmas Quilt that creates ornaments by first making a square block out of the pieces and then using a 4” drunkards path template to cut the round curves and then sew the pieces around it. The poinsettia pieces use foundation piecing to create the poinsettia points. This is a strong intermediate to advanced class. There are multiple blocks made to create this quilt.

Pattern/Kit Fee

Both the pattern and template will be discounted for the class the two months before the class-if you want it sooner, please reach out to me. I will also be making kits upon request. There will be a couple of fabric options that I will be using and will show you your choices with an image. The kit will be $120.00 and will include the templates and pattern with that price. The kits will be out of a fabric line called Poinsettia Plaza, or two lines I will combine called Christmas morning and Christmas Eve

White 5 yards

Christmas Prints 18-20 fat quarters of variety of colorings

Green (leaves in poinsettias) 2/3 yard

Gold (Poinsettia centers, ornament top and point) 1/2 yard

Red (Inner Border and Poinsettias) 1-1/4 yards

Outer Border 1-1/2 yards

Binding 2/3 yard

Backing 7 yards OR 3 yards OF 108”

I'm LaVonne Jackson, mother of 5 and grandmother of 16. I am the owner of Sew-N-Quilt, my quilt pattern, quilt stamp and template design company. Through the years I have quilted and sewn clothes for my family. When my children were older, I got a degree in architectural drafting, with an emphasis in interior design. I have designed and built many homes. I always got a thrill when the home I designed on paper started to take shape as the walls were framed and lifted. As I started designing more quilts, I used the same drafting program to design quilt stamps and templates. I get the same thrill watching as the quilts I design on the computer become a real quilt. I have been teaching sewing and quilting for years. I have taught a variety of techniques and have taken some of the techniques and tried to simplify them or find ways to make it easier by designing templates or stamps to assist in the process.
