Class Description
Create a beautiful and useful basket in just 2-3 hours! These make wonderful gifts and can be made in different sizes. Different "endings" will be shown. A zig-zag stitch on your machine is required.

Sewing machine with a zig-zag stitch
To ensure that you have the correct rope that works best, I will provide it for $9.00.
You will need approximately 800 to 1000 yards of thread. Variegated thread adds an interesting look. You can mix in coordinating colors.

I have been quilting for more than 50 years, having had the good fortune of being a daughter of Blanche Young. My mother was honored in 2001 at the Houston Quilt Festival for being one of the six women responsible in bringing back the art of quilting in the late 60s and 70s. So I grew up surrounded by fabric and quilts. I caught the disease and began teaching classes in the 1980s. I am a co-owner of Quilty Friends Retreats, home of the popular Winter and Spring Quilt Retreats held at Bryce Canyon, smaller gatherings and the Lake Powell Quilt Retreat.
